Yes there are already coliving spaces in Tenerife and across the Canary Islands.
However… Most are relatively expensive, I grew up in Wolverhampton, so everything feels expensive tbh (There are some affordable ones in the world, but usually so remote that getting to them is a mission).
A lot of them from my perspective feel designed for short stays, retreats, or for people who don’t really need to think too hard about cost.
That works if you’ve got money behind you.
It’s a different story for the rest of us.
So we’re building something different.
Nomadhut is an affordable coliving space in Tenerife for people trying to build something uncertain.
A startup.
A project.
A freelance career.
A creative life.
A new direction.
Something that might work, but hasn’t worked yet.
This will be the cheapest coliving space in Tenerife.
Not because “cheap” is the goal, but because runway matters when you’re trying to build something uncertain.
How long can you keep going before the money runs out?
Where you live affects that more than almost anything else.
The longer you can reduce your living costs without destroying your quality of life, the longer you get to keep trying.
Most people don’t fail because they lack ability.
They fail because eventually they run out of money, energy or time.
This place is an attempt to push back against that a bit.
Not with productivity hacks or startup motivational nonsense.
Just by making life slightly more affordable.
This isn’t a retreat (although I do think it’s probably the best location in Europe).
Not a luxury experience.
Not digital nomad theatre.
Just a genuinely affordable coliving space where people can live, work and stay for months without watching their bank account evaporate.
Somewhere social enough that you don’t become isolated.
Affordable enough that you can keep going.
Stable enough that you can actually focus.
And somewhere that isn’t just for Rupert and Hermione.
We’re also designing the private rooms so people can have partners, friends or family come and stay for short periods without getting charged extra every time someone visits.
Because real life doesn’t stop just because you’re trying to build something.
Tenerife makes sense for this because it already attracts remote workers, founders, freelancers, artists and people trying to redesign their lives around more freedom and lower costs.
The weather helps.
The flights help.
The existing international community helps.
But affordable long-term coliving in Tenerife still feels strangely rare.
So we’re trying to build it.
The building already exists.
Now we’re fitting out the space and seeing whether enough people believe this should exist too.
