Why Tenerife, and what’s special about the Canary Islands?

What Tenerife is to me, or at least the main plus points that don’t usually get mentioned:

1. Some of the best surf in “the EU”
2. Natural sea swimming pools
3. 15^th Century Architecture: La Laguna is an UNESCO world heritage site
4. Stargazing: Mount Teide is described by NASA as the 3^rd best place in the world to view the universe
5. Anaga park: UNESCO world heritage biosphere reserve

There’s something very special about the climate of the canary islands, especially the North side of Tenerife… not too hot in Summer, not too cold in winter.
