I think one of the most useful factors in picking Tenerife is the flight cost and availability, the figures below are from skyscanner (flying from London). From any major european city, even at a day or two’s notice you can fly to better weather relatively cheaply… also if you need to fly back at short notice its not going to break the bank, and with lots of availability.
Alternatively you can do something stupid like me, and buy a 1981 Catalac Catamaran for £3,000, and try and sail there… wish me luck.
