Most artist residencies give you a studio.
We’re interested in giving you a community.
Nomadhut is a new coliving space taking shape on Tenerife’s north coast, in the seaside town of Bajamar. It’s being built for people making things happen.
Founders.
Artists.
Writers.
Designers.
Developers.
People with ideas they can’t quite leave alone.
The building itself has had an interesting life. It has been a garage. A supermarket. A pizzeria.
Soon it’ll become something else.
A place where people from different backgrounds live together, work alongside one another and occasionally change each other’s lives.
Why an artist residency?
Because creativity doesn’t happen in isolation.
Some of the best ideas begin over breakfast.
On a walk.
While helping someone solve a problem.
Or halfway through a conversation that had absolutely nothing to do with art.
That’s the residency.
There is no expectation that you arrive with a masterpiece in mind.
There is no pressure to produce an exhibition by the end.
Instead, we want to create the conditions where good work has a chance to happen naturally.
If it does, brilliant.
If what you leave with is a new collaborator, a different way of thinking or the beginnings of your next project, that’s just as valuable.

Who should apply?
If you’re curious, generous with your ideas and enjoy meeting people outside your own field, you’ll probably fit in.
We welcome applications from visual artists, photographers, filmmakers, writers, musicians, designers, architects, performers, makers and people who don’t fit neatly into any category at all.
We’re far more interested in how you think than what job title you give yourself.
Why Bajamar?
Bajamar isn’t the Tenerife you’ll find in the holiday brochures.
It’s quieter.
More local.
The sort of place where people still stop to talk.
You can start the morning with a swim in the natural sea pools, spend the afternoon working, and finish the day watching the Atlantic from the promenade.
It’s a good place to think.
Applications
The residency will launch once the renovation is complete.
